Minimum Experience: 8 years




* Analyzes system requirements and concept of operations documents, acquisition plans, and system descriptions to develop evaluation and test plans and procedures, prepare for and conduct the data collection and analysis, and report status and results


* Supports the development of Government test and evaluation documentation e.g., Test & Evaluation (T&E) Strategy, Test & Evaluation Master Plan, Event Test Plans, Test Readiness Assessments, and T&E Reports. Works with other test organizations to support T&E program integration


* Provides specialized T&E capabilities tailored to system functions, level, maturity, and performance areas.

Job Summary
The test engineer is responsible for designing and implementing tests, debugging, and defining corrective actions. You will also review system metrics and track defect counts and densities. Perform integration and regression testing using open source and commercial tools. Work as an integral part of agile scrum teams in day to day end to end testing. Create and execute automated test scripts. Expand your skillset by being cross trained in DevOps, development, and managerial tasks if desired.

Responsibilities & Duties
* Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
* Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
* Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
* Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source, commercial, and proprietary tools
* Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
* Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
* Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet customer needs
* Liaise with internal teams (e.g. scrum teams and product owners) to identify system requirements
* Monitor debugging process results
* Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
* Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
* Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

Qualifications & Skills
* Experience using automated testing software
* Self-starter requiring minimal oversight and direction
* Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
* Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
* Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
* Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
* Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
* Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
* Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
