Job Description:

  

 

  

* Ensure that the architecture and design of DoD information systems are functional and secure

  

* As needed, design and develop IA or IA enabled products, interface specifications, and approaches to secure the environment

  

* Assess threats to the environment

  

* Provide inputs on the adequacy of security designs and architectures

  

* Participate in risk assessment during the certification and accreditation process

* Provide inputs on the adequacy of security designs and architectures

  

* Participate in risk assessment during the certification and accreditation process.

  

Primary responsibilities may also include, but not limited to:

  
     
  • Maintaining  security A&A on current deployable hardware and software and obtain  A&A on newly developed hardware and software
  •  
  • Evaluate  the security consequences of proposed modifications to software and  hardware and develop a path forward for security relevant changes.  Continuously track changes to the information system that may affect  security controls and reassess control effectiveness
  •  
  • Develop,  create, coordinate and maintain System Security Plan, Plans of Actions and  Milestones (POAM), and any other documentation required
  •  
  • Develop,  create, coordinate and maintain a security control assessment and  authorization support package for customer information systems
  •  
  • Resolve  any issues as required in the information systems completed system  security results
  •  
  • Thoroughly  documents why an issue was not corrected, including when it will be fixed,  or why it can't be fixed
  •  
  • Establish  a document repository for issues that will not be corrected and for issues  that are fixed
  •  
  • Be  familiar with and ensure all information systems meet FISMA assessment  requirements
  •  
  • Regularly  assess risk and documentation remediation of system vulnerabilities
  •  
  • Provide  ongoing awareness of information security vulnerabilities and threats
  •  
  • Continually  stay on top of the latest technology and trends by taking required  operating system, networking, security management, system administration  and security training.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  
     
  • Must  have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  •  
  • Requires  a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  •  
  • Requires  5 or more years of experience in network, host, data and/or application  security in multiple operating system environments
  •  
  • Experience  working with IP networking, networking protocols and understanding of  security related technologies including encryption, IPsec, PKI, VPNs,  firewalls, proxy services, DNS, electronic mail and access-lists
  •  
  • Experience  working with internet, web, application and network security techniques
  •  
  • Experience  working with relevant operating system security (Windows, Solaris, Linux,  etc.)
  •  
  • Experience  working with leading firewall, network scanning and intrusion detection  products and authentication technologies
  •  
  • Experience  working with federal regulations related to information security (FISMA,  Computer security Act, etc.)
  •  
  • Experience  working with NIST Special Publications and C & A process methodology
  •  
  • Possess  security certifications (CISSP, CCNA, etc) and/or Top Secret security  clearance.
